This page is made up of four parts: in the first one are the world's main search engines. In the second section you will find an overview of smaller international engines which, however, are useful for the breadth of service they offer. The third part lists the main metasearch engines, that is the special types of engine which search several other search engines simultaneously and present the results in a single list. The fourth and last section contains links to search engines which specialise in a particular subject or provide a particular service.

Beaucoup is a list of over 1000 search engines; the classification and organisation of resources is particularly good.
CUI W3 Search Engines This service is provided by the Information Technology Centre of Geneva University. It is one of the historic guides to the Net; it is also possible to question various search engines from the pages of the site.
GoGettem A Super list of more than 1200 search engines and 2600 directories. Also has a metasearch service.
The Directory Guide This is the service of Microsoft bCentral. A collection of more than 400 search engines available on the Web.
